Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to greet and assist customers, park their vehicle, and be a visible representative of The Carriage House. After parking the vehicle, the attendant will run back to their station and be prepared to assist the next patron.

Education and/or Experience                  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills                   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                   

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute percent.

 

 

Reasoning Ability                   

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

Must possess  a valid New Jersey Drivers License and proper Car Insurance Coverage.  A driving record will be required at the time of application, and it must be approved for the applicant to be considered for a position. The Class D license must be kept in good standing for the duration of employment.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for a period up to 8 hours; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  The position will often also require the employee to run up to 200 yards, 50 times a day or more, entering and exit customers vehicles 75 or more times daily and lift wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, baggage, gifts, etc. (in and out of customers vehicles)

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; extreme cold and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Shifts will not be cancelled due to inclement weather and all employees will be required to attend their scheduled shifts, and maintain a high quality of work despite weather conditions.
