Summary
Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar and service bar following standard recipes and the Company’s alcoholic beverage policies, merchandises drinks, and is attentive to guests, making them feel welcome at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following and other duties may be assigned. Takes orders from customers or Bar Waiter/Waitress. Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serves wine and draught or bottled beer. Collects money for drinks served. Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies. Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display. Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks. Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts. Guides guests in selecting food and beverage items. Merchandises Cocktail Hours, special events, etc. Sets places at dining tables, takes orders, serves food and drinks, answers inquiries about menu and attends to wishes of guests, as well as suggestively selling food and drinks
Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication of guests. Follows alcohol awareness procedures for handling intoxicated guest. Effectively cards all guest who appear under the age of 30 for alcohol purchases and under the age of 25 for tobacco purchases. Prepares drinks and verifies correct pricing. Possesses proficient knowledge of liquor quality and preparation of over 400 different drinks and keeps updated on new and revised beverage receipts. Assists servers in bar knowledge (proper glassware, correct garnish, etc.) Cleans, sanitizes, restocks and stores bar items according to procedures. Secures all moneys at the end of each shift.
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position. Attends scheduled mandatory staff meetings.
